Cat & Dog Exams in Warrick County

No matter what age your pet is, preventive care is an integral part of their ongoing health care. At Warrick Veterinary Clinic, we recommend cat and dog exams on a regular basis to ensure that your pet’s health is actively monitored by our team. Depending on your pet’s age, lifestyle, and health status, more physical exams may be recommended. We provide guidelines for different age groups, but health care is personalized to each individual pet’s needs. We recommend wellness exams and vaccinations for dogs and cats.

Puppies and Kittens

Puppies and kittens need a lot of care initially to make sure they are ready to face the world. Generally, 3-4 visits will be required as an early part of their care. During these visits, a physical exam will be conducted, imaging exams performed to check for typical health problems and parasites that affect puppies and kittens, and necessary vaccines will be administered.

Adult Pets

Adult pets will need fewer visits, on average 1-2 times per year, if they are healthy. Their care and necessary vaccines will be personalized to their needs, health status, lifestyle, etc. We will work closely with you to determine your pet’s needs. Please let us know of any questions or concerns you have about your pet’s behavior or diet, or any other area related to their health. Our goal isn’t just to keep your adult pet healthy, but to prevent conditions from developing into their golden years.

Senior Pets

Senior pets, generally over the age of about 7 years, may begin developing health conditions. These pets will need 1-2 visits per year, depending on their health status. We can discuss your pet’s specific needs during the wellness exam so we can develop the most effective health plan to keep them healthy and happy for as long as possible. We can also assess your pet’s cognitive function to determine if there are any signs of Cognitive Dysfunction Syndrome (CDS).
